A wrong address is not a typo.
It’s gone.
Arc moves real USDC between banks, payment networks and wallets — there is no undo. Give the people and businesses paying you something you can actually read back before you send: @yourname, yourname.arc or yourname.circle instead of forty hex characters. Add your addresses, a photo and verified proofs — then any wallet or explorer that reads ArcNS finds you, pays you, and shows who you are.
Illustrative — a real search on ArcNS works exactly like this. Search for real
Live on Arc testnet (chain id 5042002), an early network — nothing on testnet has monetary value. Names are permanent: one payment in USDC, no renewals.

Designer and builder. One person, reachable by any of three names.
A wallet address forgets you. On a payment rail, that costs money.
Arc exists to move stablecoins at institutional speed and finality — sub-second blocks, USDC as gas, no waiting for confirmations. That only works if the destination is right the first time. Your @handle, .arc or .circle name is permanent and yours — no renewals, no expiry. Here is what every app that reads ArcNS sees.
Four chains, one name
One name points to your Arc, Ethereum, Bitcoin and Solana addresses. A wallet asks for the chain it is sending on and gets the right one.
Proof it is really you
Records can carry a proof — a DNS record for your domain today, social proof later — and readers show "verified" only where a proof backs it.
Yours to keep and recover
Transfer it whenever you like, and set an optional recovery address that can reclaim it after an on-chain timelock you can cancel at any time.
Everything you attach travels with your name.
Set it once. Every app that reads ArcNS shows the same you — not a bare address — and always says which namespace and which registry it read.
Avatar, bio and website
Text records make your name a real profile, not just a pointer.
Verified records
A DNS record proves your domain today; social-account proof is coming — so readers know it is really you.
Addresses on four chains
Arc, Ethereum, Bitcoin and Solana records on one name. The three name shapes can point at the same addresses, or at different ones.

People send to alice.arc, not to a QR of hex
Share your name and let apps that support ArcNS resolve it to the right address. The payment app moves the funds on its own rails — ArcNS never sends or holds money. Your name just makes sure it arrives at you.
Grow one, protect one.
One payment, priced by length.
Shorter names cost more. Pay once, in USDC, and the name is yours for good — no renewals. A .arc or .circle name is half the price of the matching @handle.

The launch price is 25 % of the full price. It is a time ramp (50 % at launch, +12.5 points every 91 days, full after one year) times a volume ramp (50 % at zero sold, +12.5 points every 500 paid registrations of that namespace, full at 2,000). Early registrations lock in the lower price, and a name registered once never costs more later.
Making a wallet or explorer? Resolve names in one call.
The open @arcns/resolve SDK (TypeScript, MIT) turns any of the three shapes into labelled records — or call the REST API, or read the contracts on Arc in any language. No server of ours in the path. The SDK ships as 0.1.0-testnet.N on the npm dist-tag testnet.
The one rule: namespace and registry, every time

await arcns.resolve("@alice.arc"); // throws: ambiguousNo call returns a bare address. A mixed shape is refused rather than guessed; two registries that disagree are refused rather than picked between.
